Rod Pearson is a retired architect who started painting as a hobby twenty years ago. Rod told us more about how he started painting;
‘My architectural training meant that I was used to drawing, but beyond that I have had no lessons; I love looking at pictures and I try to develop my technique by studying the work of painters whom I admire, (particularly the Impressionists), to try to work out how they achieve their effects. Since I retired in 2008 I am happy to have been able to devote more time to painting.
I have shown pictures on two occasions at Dittons Library, and in October of last year I had seven pictures on display at the View Gallery, Thames Ditton. This was my first exhibition in a commercial gallery.’
The gala evening for the exhibition will be on Tuesday, 22nd April 2014 from 7pm – 9pm and a number of the pictures will be for sale in the range £120 to £250 throughout the exhibition.
