The Canny Band are Sam Mabbett, Michael Biggins (BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2021) and Callum Convoy, a rare fusion of piano, diatonic button accordion and bodhran. They are stalwarts of the Scottish traditional music scene, with acclaimed appearances on the BBC’s Celtic Connections. The trio cook up an expert, effervescent mix of trad-based material with borrowings from classical, jazz and beyond. Rising stars of the traditional music scene, The Canny Band are not to be missed!

Folk@thecornerHOUSE is a monthly series of concerts showcasing the best in folk music. The aim is to present a wide variety of performers in the wonderful intimate setting of The Corner House. Each evening will have a main guest with a supporting act to start. There are too few venues in Surrey providing outlets for the dazzling wealth of talent available on the folk scene and this venture will hopefully go a long way towards filling that void.
