Come and join Express CIC for a great night of comedy for a great cause!
Following sell-out shows at the Soho Theatre, London and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Josephine Lacey’s AUTISM MAMA heads out on UK tour.
Welcome to the world of a mother, caring for a pubescent teenager – who happens to be autistic.
A fascinating and hilarious stand-up show about a single mum guiding her autistic son through the first stages of puberty. Expect visual aids, balloons, and a heart-warming insight into the relationship between a mother and her son. A show not to be missed!
Pleasance Courtyard, Edinburgh:
‘The straight-talking comic’s debut hour is cheerfully rude and glowing with maternal love, as she describes parenting a son with autism’
Supported by:
Kelly Ford (MC)
Kelly Ford, a rising star on the UK comedy circuit, has been making audiences laugh at renowned clubs like Komedia, Glee, Top Secret, and Up the Creek.
A Funny Women ‘One to Watch’, Up the Creek Blackout Winner, and a Not So New Comedian Finalist (2022 & 2024), Kelly Ford has also caught the eye of the industry landing on the Channel 4 Sean Lock Award longlist (2024).
When not tearing up comedy stages, she’s been seen on BBC Three’s “Things Not to Say to a Pregnant Person” and E4’s “Rage Room”
A powerhouse MC, she’s hosted shows at Underbelly’s iconic Spiegeltent, Screaming with Laughter and beyond. And if you’ve ever tuned into Soho Radio, BBC R4 Woman’s Hour, The Everything Project, or The Motherless, you’ve likely heard her dulcet tones (or unfiltered opinions).
Mags McHugh (Opener)
Originally from Ireland, Mags has performed comedy across the country before making her mark on the UK and European circuit. She received four-star reviews at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe for Blacksheep and Snack Chat, was runner-up for ‘Not So New Comedian of the Year’ in 2022, and was named ‘One to Watch’ by Funny Women Dublin. Now based in London, she continues to perform at renowned clubs across the UK and beyond.
