Event Details
When the Titanic set sail for New York on 10th April 1912 there were 2214 people on board. Around 112 were children. The Titanic hit an iceberg and sank, on 15th April 1912. Over 1500 people perished. Around 50 children died – all but one was travelling third class.
In 2012, on the 100th anniversary of the sinking, David Lawson Lean produced a theatre production telling the story of some of the children who were on board the Titanic. He conducted a considerable amount of research on the short lives of those perished and what became of those who survived. Their stories are fascinating and profoundly moving.
To mark the 110th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, David would like to revisit some of these stories by sharing the testimonies, reports and images which helped him to piece together the story of the Titanic’s youngest passengers.
Doors open 7.00. Talk starts at 7.45pm. Tickets are £5 from Ticketsource
